Apple Will Bring the Australian iPad Owners Back the Money
You may have read our article where Apple was going to be sued by Australian Competition Company. Well, the reason for that was Apple promised, that 4G data in new iPad will work anywhere. This morning the ACCC filed an application in the Federal Court. So, here is the result. The Australian owners are being offered refunds by Apple.
Moreover, we should say that Apple offers full refunds for its mistake. To tell the truth, Telstra offers a 4G network in Australia, although the frequencies used by Apple’s new iPad are incompatible with such kind of service.
Apple 4G Network is Not Working in Australia
Apple did a wrong thing, advertising its gadget of new third generation, as the iPad which has Wi-Fi and 4G. According to the report of Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which is also known like ACCC, the Australian iPad owners are strongly disappointed by the fact that they have purchased the product, which is not similar to the one being advertised. People expected to get an iDevice with a SIM card, connect to a 4G mobile data network in Australia. Instead they’ve got another one.
The marketing strategy, if we may call it like that, of Apple claims contravenes sections 18, 29(1)(a), 29(1)(g) and 33 of the Australian Consumer Law. So, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, insist on placing stickers with appropriate information on all packaging.
It means that Apple “agreed to publish a clarification that states the product supports ultra-fast mobile networks but is not compatible with the Telstra network.” Still, the good news remain on its place. Apple company has agreed to refund all money for Australian consumers.
Moreover, we should mention that Apple, will also take steps to ensure that there is no misunderstanding in other countries with this problem.
Stay tuned and you will get the hottest news from all over the world.
